Disneyland

(Sorry I’ve been AWOL for the past month or so — just haven’t been up for spending much time online.  I’ll try to catch you up on dance, Christmas, reflections on 2013, and hopes for 2014 in the next few weeks.  But for now, DISNEYLAND!)

I can only stay away from a Disney park for about two years, so we were due for a visit.  We’ve toyed with the idea of going west to Disneyland in the past  — it’s where the magic started, after all — but (1) Molly’s desire to see Cars Land (“I’ve been dreaming of it my WHOLE life.”) and (2) connecting with a college friend of Bill’s who works there sealed the deal.

We had a great trip and Cars Land did not disappoint.  It was easy to believe we had been plopped right down in the middle of Radiator Springs.

There were a lot of our old favorites, too, from characters to the Dumbo and tea cups ride.

Molly was finally tall enough to ride Space Mountain, and it became her favorite ride.  We rode it over and over.  We met Merida from Brave, and the girls had fun wearing their handmade princess dresses.  (Molly is Merida and JA is Christmas Belle.)

It was a magical trip and a fun way to start the new year.  (We love extending our Christmas break with the girls by taking them out of school.)
