This weekend marked the fifth year that we’ve participated in Once Upon a Christmas Eve, our dance studio’s Christmas production. The girls have been cookies and snow babies, snowbirds and school girls, and even penguins. This year Jane Anne was a snowbird and a school girl, and Molly was the cutest penguin you ever did see.
This time of year is busy for everyone, so a couple of weeks of extra dance rehearsals added to the end of the semester madness makes for a full few weeks. It’s worth it, though. Not because the show turns out beautifully, which it did, but because it celebrates one of the things that the girls love best — dancing. I love watching them light up as they waddle or chasse’ on to the stage, full of joy and energy even after long nights.
