Yesterday was Jane Anne’s 9th birthday. We celebrated all weekend: we enjoyed friends, pizza, monopoly, thumb-print cookies and the Muppets on Friday night, and then we had a special birthday dinner (grilled burgers, pasta salad, strawberries, potatoes, lemonade, and brownies) last night joined by Nana and Pop-Pop. Today I’m joining her at school to eat lunch with her.
I took this picture last night before she went to bed. She was happy after a several days of celebrating her and opening presents from lots of people who love her.
I am so thankful for Jane Anne — she’s kind and generous; she’s a fantastic sister; she’s a learner; and she’s fun to be with. I love her quiet spirit and the way she doesn’t let much ruffle her. I’m lucky to be her mama.

Happy Birthday to my oldest Grandgirl. Nine already and so mature and independent. So filled with self esteem and curiousity. I love you.
Hope you enjoy her birthday song!
