Bath, Day 2

“There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them.”

High Tea (or hot chocolate) at the Pump Room.  Apparently, Jane Austen frequented here.

Molly ordered “regulo tea,” which is, apparently, English Breakfast.

Outside the abbey

I was completely taken by this statue, which was erected by the temperance league.  It reads “take the water of life freely.”  I thought she was beautiful and took about 30 shots of her.

The exterior of the abbey, which is also the site that the first king of England — Edgar — was crowned in 973.  It also houses part of the original Normal wall.

At this point we had walked a lot.  Uphill.

And some of us were grumpy.

I was way grumpier than this.  But then we had lunch, and a coke.  And we were all happier.

More Bath tomorrow.
